Fundamentals of Business

Learn the Fundamentals of Business with instructor Daryl Upole.

 

Held for 6 consecutive weeks from Tuesday, March 3 until Tuesday, April 7, at 5:30pm at Kent State University Ashtabula, this entry-level course is for aspiring or current small business owners.

 

This course will provide a practical overview of the fundamental aspects of business in preparation for a follow-up course on writing a business plan.

Intro to Entrepreneurship for Students and Adults

A 6-session biweekly course introducing Entrepreneurship to students and adults with ATech beginning Wednesday, March 11.

 

Session 1: Business Basics

- Overview: Introduction to fundamental business concepts

- Key Topics:

- Types of businesses (sole proprietorship, LLC, corporation)

- Understanding market research

- Basics of business finance

- Takeaways:

- Participants will be able to identify different business structures and their implications.

 

Session 2: Start-Up Process

- Overview: Steps to take from idea to launch

- Key Topics:

- Validating business ideas

- Creating a minimum viable product (MVP)

- Legal considerations for starting a business

- Participants will learn how to validate their business ideas and the initial steps to take before

launching.

 

Session 3: Business Plan Writing

- Overview: Crafting a comprehensive business plan

- Components of a business plan (executive summary, market analysis, financial projections)

- Importance of a business plan for funding and direction

Session 4: Psychology of Business
